Salvia × jamensis 'Royal Bumble'

£4.50

Bold, floriferous variety with striking, deep crimson-red flowers held on near-black stems, creating a rich contrast that stands out in any border. Flowering from early summer through to the first frosts, it delivers months of vibrant colour and is a magnet for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.

Unlike many other salvias, 'Royal Bumble' has proven to be one of the hardier selections us here in West Lothian, even through colder winters when given a sunny, sheltered position with good drainage. It forms a compact, bushy shape and responds well to a spring trim.

Low-maintenance, long-flowering, and wonderfully vivid — ideal for adding drama to mixed borders or containers.

Sold Currently in 9cm pots.

  • Height & Spread: 60–75cm x 50cm

  • Position: Full sun, sheltered

  • Soil: Well-drained, moderately fertile soil

  • Flowering Time: June to October

Telegraph Top 20 Mail-Order Plant Nurseries

One of the Daily Telegraph’s Top 20 mail-order nurseries. The largest list of peonies in Scotland, ranging from herbaceous peonies, Itoh or intersectional peonies and tree peonies.

Gardens Illustrated 2019 Badge

One of Gardens Illustrated's 100 best plant nurseries in the UK: "Billy Carruthers is mad about peonies and has over 300 varieties on the nursery. In recent years he's exhibited them at the Chelsea Flower Show. However, they're just the tip of the iceberg for this nursery, midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh, Central Scotland"
